So recently my friend Robin decided to buy an Oculus Rift, I had seen the new offer for £399 which was £200 off and wasn’t really interested, but he was, so he bought one, so one evening I go round to try it out and am amazed at how good it is. A few days later I took my PC round there to see how it would run.
Somewhat expected, it did run, the main issue I had was compatible USB’s, as the compatibility tool said it didn’t recognise them, I thought it might be an issue but it wasn’t. That day I ordered one from Oculus.com. Amazon was out of stock at this time. My order sat there for a good week and a bit, I had heard from Oculus support that they would get some in mid August, but one evening I checked Amazon and they were back in stock, unfortunately I was a few hours late for that Saturday delivery so had to wait until Tuesday (8th August).
Set up was easy, and it runs really well, the trackers work well too, and I love playing it. Last night I was sat playing and there is no time shown in the game I was playing, so I asked Alexa, and it was almost 1:30am!
I will at some point probably do a video of either the Oculus, or my current PC setup, so stay tuned!
