When the Switch was first announced, I was pretty sceptical, as I didn’t really see myself playing it a lot out and about, and figured it would just sit in it’s dock. The only game that was interesting upon it’s launch was Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was also being released for the Wii U, so I got BOTW for Wii U and continued on.
Months pass and the line up of Switch games increases, ARMs looks good, Splatoon 2 maybe, Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon RPG OMFG yes please. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, well, I have it for Wii U, so what’s the point.
So over 4 months after initial release, I decide it’s time I get a Switch, I knew it would happen eventually with Mario Odyssey coming out in October, so I had been trading in old Xbox, 3DS, and Wii U games in order to save for it. Unfortunately, just deciding I wanted one wasn’t the hardest part, the stock situation was still bad, they were selling out as quickly as they could make them, STILL. But, I was lucky, working around the corner from a GAME store I went in one lunch break just days after deciding to buy one and there was one sat on the counter, the last Neon one they had too.
So, what can I say about the Switch? Well, I am enjoying it a lot more than I thought, 1-2 Switch is actually pretty fun with friends, and I really like ARMs, although it took some getting used to, I am getting progressively better at it. Splatoon 2 launches the end of this week, and after playing the Splatfest last Saturday I went from “Nah it’s just the same as the first” to “Actually this is pretty fun.”
And with Mario and Rabbids coming out in August and as I mentioned before Mario Odyssey coming out in October, along with various other games, I feel the Switch is going to get some really good games, as well as some Wii U game makeovers such as Pokken Tournament and possibly Bayonetta. So overall very happy with my purchase so far, and look forward to playing some great games on it.
